please share your meal plans for the week!!!!

Oh man, they’re so boring.  Part of what gets me down about meal planning is that I have all these big plans, but then I remember the budget, taking into account what meal components I have on hand, my food aversions, my husband’s food aversions (which are never the same aversions as my aversions), and the amount of time needed for each recipe, and I’m left with a totally uninspiring menu for the week.

But whatever, at least Mac is eating three balanced meals a day!

Here’s what’s on the docket for this week:

  • Monday: Fend for yourself (aka: mama’s gotta go grocery shopping)
  • Tuesday: Pigs in a Blanket
  • Wednesday: Spinach (and chicken) Enchiladas Verde
  • Thursday: ricotta gnocchi
  • Friday: walnut pasta (not the actual name, but what we call it here)
  • Saturday: leftovers for lunch, dinner at my parents’
  • Sunday: brunch w/friends, then Superbowl party (I’ll be making this chili and I think this cake. Also, I might be bringing my cake pops out of retirement. We’ll see…)
  • Monday: salsa burgers (I found this recipe on the back of a bag of Market Pantry cheese. It’s ground beef, mixed w/salsa, piled on an english muffin which is topped with cheese and a jalapeno slice and then briefly broiled. It’s tasty, cheap, and easy. Plus, you could use any meat or even use beans to make it vegetarian. If anyone wants the recipe, lemme know.)

Aaaand then it’s time to go grocery shopping again!

So there ya go. Our menu for the week.  Riveting stuff!

Do you all meal plan? What’s on the menu for your week?  Am I the only one who obsesses over what I’ll be eating for the week? Which basically means am I the only one eternally thinking about what my next meal will be and when it will come?

  2. forgetfulmama said: i need to meal plan but i can never decide on what i want that day. sometimes i take stuff out and then i don’t want to eat it. thanks for sharing! some favorites here are: turkey burgers, taco night, pasta of some sort with sausauges….that’s it!
  3. onemoretimewithfeeling answered: I am so in love with my crock pot! I make pot roast, chicken stroganoff, tortilla soup, etc. and it’s SO easy to put together.
